A lot of people are choosing to create their own website, either to promote their products and services, or to advertise someone else's products (affiliate marketing). This is all well and good, and there is no question that successful digital marketing often leads to significant gains in revenue.
However, time and again, we encounter business owners who invest a good deal of effort in creating a WordPress or Google website without seeing any increase in traffic or sales. Competition on the world wide web is tough, but there are steps you can take to move further ahead in the pack.
Take, for example, the finance industry, in particular companies advertising unsecured loans. The competition in this niche market is cut throat, with a long list of websites vying to sell the loans from the same providers.
If you are new player in this type of market, there are three things you must do:
A good example of a business who followed this advice is the newly established company, Finaton.
The content on this page goes much further into detail than similar pages on competitor's websites. In addition, the title and the headers are carefully chosen to match search terms commonly used to find a consumer loan.
Last, but not least, the web page has its own URL allowing the user to navigate to different parts of the content without interference from other non-related content. Any article over 1,000 words should have its own URL.
If you want to show up on the first page of Google, start by following the E-A-T checklist. E-A-T stands for Expertise, Authority and Trust.
These three words describe what Google values when it is deciding how to rank websites. Web content that has up-to-date, correct and useful information from a reliable source is more apt to rank high when searcing Google.
Next time you post on your website or social media page, make sure your content addresses these E-A-T questions:
Does your website...
Is your content...
Does the author or content have...
Again, you will see that the example given above from Finaton has followed all of these guidelines and seen improved results because of it.
Experience has taught us that following E-A-T advice works, especially after Google's 2018 algorithm updates.
Even if you are relatively new to writing content, if you can manage to show Google that you have experience, you are an authority on your subject matter, and you are trust worthy, then chances are your content will do well in Search.
Best of luck to you!
